In large institutions, failures do not please. Val\u00e9rie Garnier<\/strong>the former Bleues selector, has just had bitter experience. Six trophies in a year and a half … but two recent failures<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Val\u00e9rie Garnier pays the price for a 2024-2025 season less glorious than the previous one, when she returned to Fenerbah\u00e7e, four years after her first visit (March 2018 to June 2019). Because after winning six trophies in as many finals in a year and a half (the European Super Cup, twice, the Turkish Cup, the Turkey Championship, the Euroleague and the President's Cup), the Stambouliote club wiped two failures in a blow in 2025.<\/p>\n

First in the Turkey Cup, with a defeat in the last square against Mersin (78-57 at the end of March). Then, above all, in the Women's Euroleague. Favorite for its own double succession, Fenerbah\u00e7e Istanbul was however surprised in the semi-final by the future winner of the competition, the USK Prague. The 3rd place acquired against Valencia has in no way wiped this setback on the European scene. In addition, the game produced by Fenerbah\u00e7e this season has been the subject of many criticisms, despite an XXL workforce, including the triple MVP of the Euroleague, Emma Meesseman.<\/p>\n

A most confusing timing!<\/strong><\/h4>\n

While the timing of Val\u00e9rie Garnier's return to Fenerbah\u00e7e had surprised in August 2023 (in full preseason, still hired in NM1 with the MB towers), that of his 2nd departure from the Stambouliote club is just as much. Fenerbah\u00e7e begins the finals of the Playoffs of the Turkish championship\u2026 this Wednesday, April 16 against Rival Mersin! If his replacement, the coach of La Roja Miguel Mendez, has already been inducted, Gabby Williams, Mari\u00e8me Badine and his partners will not approach this last deadline of the best season.<\/p>\n
