The LOSC announced Thursday evening the death of Arnaud Lasserre, one of its supporters whose history had despite itself made a symbol of the drifts of football. The northern club “cries this faithful supporter”, as he wrote on his social networks. “We send our condolences to his family and loved ones,” he added.
Arnaud Lasserre, 39, had been brutally attacked one evening in September 2021, near the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, after a meeting against Wolfsburg in the Champions League. Accompanied by his brother and two friends, he went to the Factory, an adjoining bar at the stadium, to have a last drink. The rest, his brother Yannick told us a month later:
“My brother and his friends sat next to a group who imported a waitress from the bar. A girl then came to insult one of the members of the group. The tone rose, other guys arrived and then started to type one of my brother's two friends who had nothing to do in history. They got five of them. My brother probably tried to defend him and they also attacked him. »»
24 days in coma
Arnaud then stayed in a coma for 24 days. Since then, he had not found all of his physical means. He thus suffered from deafness to the right ear, loss of balance, chronic pain and heavy psychological sequelae.

The investigation led to the indictment of six people in March 2022, five of which were linked to the ultra-right movement. Arnaud Lasserre was still waiting for their trial, more than three years after the facts. The causes of his death are not known, informs the Voix du Nord This Friday.
