Philadelphia will have lived a year 2024-25 to forget, between wounds in mess and an absence of the playoffs. Flagship recruit last summer and strongly criticized in recent months, Paul George has thus gone Franco to the state of the franchise recently.
2024-25 was a regular season rich in beautiful stories. Between the Thunder and the Cavs which dominated the two conferences, the Rockets finishing second to the west or the pistons which won 30 games more than last year, there was something to rinse your eye. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of certain franchises that have disappointed all over the line, such as the Suns for example who missed the playoffs.
And if we look at the side of the East Conference, how not to evoke the absolute sinking that was the campaign of the Sixers. Expected as candidates for the title before the start of the season, Joel Embiid and others finished… thirties of their conference with only 24 victories for 58 defeats. The Pennsylvania franchise will have suffered constantly from start to finish, and this in a very literal way.

Indeed, Coach Nick Nurse has never been able to count on an entire workforce, his main stars missing a lot of matches. Arrived this summer since the Clippers, Paul George, for example, played only half of the exercise with only 41 games. A big disillusionment for the winger who spoke of this nightmarish season:
Honestly, this is one of the most difficult seasons I have experienced. I had to face a lot of adversity, on the ground as outside. And these injuries … These were stuff that I didn't even know I had. It's frustrating. Frankly, we were in panic mode all year round. It was a permanent domino effect: a player returns, another was injured.
And I have to greet the coach Nick Nurse who did what he could to pick up the songs over the weeks. But there has never been a continuity. No real pace, no stability in rotations. The problem went far beyond the injuries: it is that we have never really been able to play together.
It is true that without being able to count on his major five regularly, Philly was likely to satisfy his ambitions as a sacred NBA. Should we turn the page as far as the team is concerned? PG13 is not of this opinion, quite the contrary:
I think that with the players we have, and by finding young talents to strengthen us … I think we can become a team capable of playing the title in the future.
No one will be able to deny that the 2024-25 Sixers season was a total disaster. Joel Embiid, Paul George and others will have to redeem himself next year while the Philadelphia project seems to go nowhere. The offseason could well be restless.
