Denver has turned its internal structure to the Playoffs, separating from its trainer and its GM. President Josh Kroenke had to take a position with the shock ad, sliding a few words about Nikola Jokic in passing.
With 50 victories for 32 defeats, Denver has maintained itself in the top 4 of the Western Conference. However, the next playoffs are not approached with the full of serenity in Colorado. Not really a surprise since the franchise has just struck hard by dismissing the coach Michael Malone and the GM, Calvin Booth.
Inevitably, it was President Josh Kroenke who had to speak at a press conference in order to justify his decision. He also took the opportunity to make an amazing admission concerning this double dismissal, paying tribute to the licensees in question:
Frankly, none of them deserved it. And I apologize. I would have needed to be better at other times.
In this case, Kroenke did not hide that he had thought of turning Malone in November, then around the All-Star Break before giving it up. As for whether Nikola Jokic was aware, the triple MVP had admitted to having been informed shortly before the announcement. Kroenke confirmed it, while explaining that the Serbian had declined to discuss the decision of the boss, which was already taken. The latter has not chewed his words on this subject:

You have a responsibility when you have a player like that, in his bonus which is more. But I feel an even greater responsibility towards the person. I would be the worst idiot in the world of basketball if I did not ask him for his opinion on certain things. But my responsibility is to make these decisions for the good of the organization and I think Jokic understands and respect that.
Now, we will have to cross your fingers so that this squad of Denver, now led by David Adelman, can do a lot of Graboo in Playoffs. After all, the goal remained the same, namely the title of champion lost last year. Kroenke says he is optimistic, while sweeping criticism from the roster from the back of the hand:
We have the best player in the world. I think we have an excellent workforce and that there are very good players who know how to win and who are looking for the present moment at the highest level. I saw things like: “Nikola Jokic had never had a teammate All-Star”. He has teammates who are ready for these great moments and who are not afraid. There are a lot of All-Star players who cannot say as much.
Nuggets are not exactly confident at the moment, but the time would not be panic according to Josh Kroenke. Nikola Jokic is still there, just like many key elements of the coronation 2023. It remains to be seen if it will be sufficient.
