Author of 59 matches with the Wizards this season, Bilal Coulibaly missed the last month because of an ischio-injury injury. He nevertheless came to take stock this Monday and was somehow delighted with his chronic inconstancy.
Given their workforce and their project, their objective was clearly not to participate in the Postseason which is about to start. Wizards simply wanted to develop their many young players for the future and recover the best possible choice for the next draft. They therefore gave themselves all the chances of obtaining it by finishing with one of the three worst balance sheets in the League (18-64).
While waiting for the traditional Lottery, the time is currently on the balance sheet on the side of Washington DC and in particular for the two French people of the franchise, who each have in their own way marked the last months of their imprint. Thus, while Alex Sarr was fighting for the rookie trophy of the year and received The sometimes scathing advice of his veterans teammatesBilal Coulibaly continued to progress in the NBA.
Bilal Coulibaly without detour to his contrasting season
Sent this Monday before journalists, Coulibaly took the opportunity to learn from this 2024-25 campaign, especially on the collective level:
Bilal Coulibaly: It is clear that we have gone through difficult times. The season is long, there are always ups and downs. Whatever happens, you have to keep working. But overall, I would say it was a solid season for the team.
Symbol of this irregularity, the young tricolor winger admits having alternated the good and the least good … but sees it as an exciting work line:
Bilal Coulibaly: Individually, this season has been irregular enough to be honest. I think I could have been better. That said, I'm delighted not to have been perfect because it means that I can still improve myself.
I will work every day during the summer to make sure I be more regular next year.
A real work executioner, Coulibaly therefore addresses this second NBA off -season as a good way to expand a little more his panoply of player. He also seems to have identified the areas concerned:
Bilal Coulibaly: I'm really going to focus on my half-fate, my 3-point shot and my handling of the ball. All this will allow me to approach next season with more confidence offensively.
For the time being, “B-Coul” will already have to treat the injury to the hamstrings who deprived it of the last month of competition. This, before possibly participating in the euro with the French team, he who said he was leaving for this epic in recent hours.
Aware that he did not meet all the expectations placed in him this season, Bilal Coulibaly intends to deal with this inconvenience during the summer. Count on him to come back next year even more polite on the NBA parquet floors.
