Kevin de Bruyne announces his departure from Manchester City
In a letter addressed to Manchester City supporters on his social networks, Kevin de Bruyne announces his departure after the season.
“Seeing that, you probably suspect what will follow. So I'm going to go straight to the point and tell you that the months that follow will be my last as a Manchester City player,” writes the Belgian midfielder.
“None of this is all easy to write but all football players know that this day ends up arriving. This day has happened and you deserve to hear it first in my mouth. Football led me to you and to this city. To continue my dream, without knowing that this period would change my life. This city. This club. These people … They gave me everything. I had no other choice than to give everything.
“Whether you like it or not, it's time to say goodbye. Suri, Rome, Mason, Michèle and I are more than grateful for what this place means for our family. Manchester will be forever registered on the passport of our children and, more importantly, in each of our hearts. It will always be our house.”
“We cannot thank the city, the club, the staff, my teammates enough, and the family for these ten years. Each story has an end but that will have been the best chapter. Take advantage of these last moments together.”
