While the VAR canceled a penalty which had been granted to it during the quarter -final return of the Champions League between Real Madrid and Arsenal, Kylian Mbappé did not hide his frustration with Stéphanie Fropart, the fourth referee of this meeting.
The Var's decision remained in his throat. While Kylian Mbappé thought he had obtained a penalty after being slightly surrounded in the surface by Declan Rice (23rd), François Letexier, referee of the quarter -final return of the Champions League between Real Madrid and Arsenal, finally decided to return to his initial decision.

A few minutes earlier, at the 10th, François Letexier had decided to grant a penalty for a hanging from Raul Asencio on Mikel Merino. Believing that the two actions were similar, Mbappé did not understand this decision. And he made it understand to Stéphanie FRAPPART, fourth referee of this quarter -final return.
Five minutes of interruption for video verification
“It's the same in the surface. The other, you saw it. And there, you have not seen it,” railed the Real Madrid striker when returning to the locker room, in a sequence captured by the cameras of Canal+.
However, the arbitral body took its time to make its decision on the possible fault on Mbappé. In all, between the moment when the penalty was whistled (22'30 “) and the final decision (27'30”), five long minutes sold. This was obviously not likely to reassure Kylian Mbappé.
