The French team will play its three fall 2025 games at the Parc des Princes, for lack of visibility on the Stade de France whose procedure for concession by the State is not over, announced the French Football Federation (FFF) this Thursday.
“The French male team will play its three fall games at the Parc des Princes, against Iceland on September 9, Azerbaijan on October 10 and Ukraine on November 13,” said FFF president Philippe Diallo during a press conference held this Thursday. These three games will count for qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
“For the remaining three games (at home before the World Cup), we gave ourselves a time to reflect,” added Philippe Diallo. The Stade de France must theoretically change its hands in August but the case does not stop late. But according to information from RMC Sport, the recourse of the outgoing vinci-Bouygues consortium against GL Events was rejected by the Council of State.
An attachment to the Stade de France
The government had appointed mid-December the Lyon group GL Events to enter into exclusive negotiations within the framework of the renewal of the concession of this enclosure of which the State is the owner. “It is not at all finished with the Stade de France, a symbolic place to which we are attached, but the economic conditions made in the past did not meet the requirements,” said Philippe Diallo.
“There is no agreement for the concession candidate,” said Jean-François Vilotte, the Director General of the FFF. “In any event, we will play the competition, we have done so far and we are very happy with the result.”
The FFF will also wait for the continuation of the concession process before deciding where the final of the French Cup will be played next season, traditionally at the Stade de France. Philippe Diallo also mentioned the possibility of “bringing the French team, which is very sought after, abroad in March 2026” even for his games theoretically at home.
