Like his franchise in Charlotte, Tidjane Salaün had a fairly complicated rookie season. He is also the first to recognize it, the French nugget does not chew her words with journalists once the regular campaign is over.
Unlike Zaccharie Risacher who will discover the play-in in a few days, the other French rookies are already on vacation. It will however be an opportunity for them to work on their game, in order to return stronger in 2025-26.
This is particularly worth for the young winger of the Hornets, who had shown great things in pre-season. Except that the regular campaign was much more complicated for him, especially in the scoring where he showed a lot of clumsiness (5.9 points on average at 33% in shooting, including 28.3% from afar). Questioned on this subject by French journalists after his last match, the Habs were well aware of it:
A performance? It's complicated. A performance is not as if I had done a lot, we are not going to hide it. I retained good things, but not necessarily in the games where I put the most points. Of course I really liked the one against Miami, my first match where I put 18 points, something like that. But in itself, I really liked this end of the season.

The good news is that its margin of progression is still immense. Remember, Janelle Salaün's little brother is still only 19 years old, which makes him one of the youngest players in the league. Above all, he discovered a sporting environment totally different from what he knew this season, with in particular a frantic calendar which made him aware that the NBA was a whole different world:
Back-to-backs, like today. I admit that the back-to-backs are terrible. For example, today I was really tired, especially when you take a flight and then you arrive at three o'clock at the hotel in addition, and you have to leave directly. It is true that it is really hard, especially that in addition to these last games, I started to play a little more.
I know that we are not necessarily 100% but in the sense that as I already have, we will say a few after -effects, that makes that play between that and fatigue, it's true that it is a crazy ordeal. The fact of chaining a back-to-back, you don't even have a day of rest, in the care question … I would say that I had a good night, it could have gone. But as I did not have a good night in addition, it is true that it is much more complicated to continue.
Between a huge clumsiness to shooting and the harsh sequence of the 82 NBA games, Tidjane Salaün clearly drooled this year. Fortunately, it does not seem to be the type to give up and you can expect to see it in a much better light in 2025-26.
