Captain of Zhejiang FC, Cheng Jin, visibly marked, politely shorted his television interview. “I'm sorry, it's not a lack of respect for you. But I really have nothing to say,” he said.

The Spanish coach of the club, Raul Caneda, said at a press conference after the meeting having “nothing to say in the match”. “Football has no place in such a context,” he said via an interpreter.

Hangzhou police have confirmed the death of Aaron Boupendza, saying that they “ruled out any criminal track” after an investigation including interrogations and the video surveillance image exam. The Zhejiang FC published a statement saying “to cooperate fully with the authorities in the investigation” on the death of the player.

International Gabonese (35 selections, 8 goals), Boupendza, which only worn the jersey of the Bordeaux reserve team, has evolved in several other French clubs (Pau, Gazélec Ajaccio, Tours). He then played in Hatayspor (Turkey), Al-Arabi (Qatar) as well as FC Cincinnati (United States) and Rapid Bucharest (Romania) before joining the Zhejiang FC in January.
