Seven LSU Tigers Named to All-SEC Baseball Teams
In the 2024 Southeastern Conference (SEC) baseball season, the LSU Tigers demonstrated exceptional talent and depth, earning widespread recognition for their performances. A total of five Tigers received All-SEC honors, underscoring the team’s prowess and individual excellence. These accolades were a testament to the players’ dedication, skill, and the strategic guidance of Head Coach Jay Johnson.
Among the standout performers was third baseman Tommy White, who earned Second-Team All-SEC honors. White’s offensive contributions were pivotal to LSU’s success, as he led the team with a .341 batting average, 23 home runs, and 63 RBIs. His consistent performance at the plate made him a formidable presence in the Tigers’ lineup. Notably, White’s efforts were instrumental in LSU’s series sweep against Ole Miss, where he batted .615, hitting three home runs and driving in seven RBIs.
On the pitching front, right-handed pitcher Luke Holman and left-handed pitcher Griffin Herring also garnered Second-Team All-SEC recognition. Holman, with an 8-3 record and a 2.73 ERA, demonstrated exceptional control and strikeout ability, recording 109 strikeouts over 79 innings. His performance was marked by a .178 opponent batting average, highlighting his dominance on the mound. Herring, serving as a relief pitcher, posted a 3-1 record with a 1.99 ERA and six saves. His ability to close games effectively was crucial for LSU’s bullpen strength.
The Tigers also saw recognition among the freshman class, with outfielder Ashton Larson and second baseman Steven Milam earning Freshman All-SEC honors. Larson exhibited impressive batting skills, hitting .336 with eight doubles, three home runs, and 14 RBIs. Milam, a versatile infielder, boasted a .311 batting average, contributing significantly with nine doubles, three triples, and four home runs. His performances were particularly notable during key SEC series, where he played a pivotal role in securing victories for LSU.
