He is only 17 years old, but he is already well known to football fans across Europe. The Portuguese offensive midfielder is making a place in the eleven of FC Porto (18 championship games including 11 tenure, 6 goals and 3 assists) and asserts himself as one of the most promising players on the old continent. Inevitably, it was quickly announced in the viewfinder of large clubs.
At the start of the week, the Portuguese press evoked a pronounced interest of Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain for its services, even if it was then denied by Luis Campos. Anyway, FC Porto does not want to be done in this case and has been working for a while on the signing of a new contract for its prodigy, while its current deal was going until 2027.
A new release clause
According to our information, the signing of his new contract should be done this week. An agreement was thus reached between the club in northern Portugal and the entourage of the player, and the documents have already been approved by both parties. Rodrigo Mora will therefore be under contract until 2030, and above all, his release clause will now be 100 million euros, against a little less than 70 million euros so far.
An amount that protects FC Porto, since this new clause could either discourage interested clubs, or put Porto in a position of force in negotiations and oblige the contenders to pay a huge sum which would logically do good in the account of the Portuguese club.
