The Wolves Outsiders against the Lakers? Rudy Gobert's cash opinion: “Show who we are”

Sixth to the west at the end of the regular season, the Timberwolves tackle their series of playoffs against the Lakers without the advantage of the field. Should they therefore be perceived as outsiders in this confrontation? Rudy Gobert offered his point of view.

Simply based on their clashes this season, it is impossible to decide between them. Lakers and Timberwolves are indeed a balanced assessment on these four duels, proof that their level is very close. However, one of the two franchises will have to take over in the coming days, on the occasion of a first -round series of Playoffs which promises to be extremely disputed.

Rudy Gobert evokes the chances of the Wolves against the Lakers

As Game 1 approaches between the two teams, fans and experts try to imagine the scenario of this attractive series. Many are based on the classification of the Western Conference, where the Lakers (3rd) have ahead of the Wolves (6th). Their prognosis therefore leans quite logically in favor of the Angelinos, which is not to displease Anthony Edwards. The latter thus declares at a press conference:

Anthony Edwards : I like it. I adore. It's great. I savor the fact that everyone wants the Lakers to win. This is how it is supposed to happen. They don't want Timberwolves to prevail. I captured.

As you can see, the young star of Minnesota intends to use this distrust of hers as an additional source of motivation.

Also asked about the subject in the minutes that followed, Rudy Gobert was not more disturbed than his teammate. On the contrary, he also believes that the outsider label stuck to his team can only have beneficial consequences in the days to come:

Rudy Gobert : I believe that we are the outsiders, yes. And it suits us very well.

I think we have a lot of players in our locker room who have been considered outsiders all their lives. It is a status that suits us and that we readily accept, both individually and collectively. In a way, it is the perfect position to show who we are and what wood we heat, once again.

Determined to recall that the Wolves remain finalist in reigning conference, Gobert also intends to make those who promise him to hear against the he has not escaped the doubts that surround him on the defensive level and is convinced that he will be able to answer them on the field. What make this confrontation even more attractive and inevitable than it was already.

Like Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert welcomes the status of outsiders attributed to the Timberwolves against the Lakers. It would finally seem that this inferiority position is seen as a blessing in Minnesota.
