Defeated this Friday by Miami after extension (114-123), the Hawks officially made a cross on their chances of participating in the playoffs. A blow on which Trae Young was obviously invited to express himself at a press conference.
Whatever happens, the winner of this match knew that he would not approach as a favorite the series to come against the riders. Despite this, Hawks and Heat were determined to win this Friday and get the last ticket for the playoffs distributed to the East. And although at home, the men of Quin Snyder ended up bowing after a one-way extension (114-123). A hard result to swallow for Trae Young.
Trae Young Cash following the end of the premature season of Hawks
Inevitably expected at the turn of this meeting as the leader of his franchise, Young overall responded with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. This, unlike Zaccharie Risacher, once again weighed down by clumsiness and mocked across the Atlantic. At a press conference, the Atlanta leader did not, however, threw her stone and simply expressed his disappointment:

Always so ambitious, Ice Trae therefore hoped for a better outcome in his season.
Without however veiling his face on his chances of title, he still wanted to access the playoffs in order to make this young personnel already pass:
Trae Young : No one sees us as a pretender in the title. All that matters to us is to improve each day and focus on it. This is what I have been told with that the season begins and what I had to focus on.
That said, people know how important winning is in my eyes. That's all that matters to me.
Failing to face Cleveland in the coming days, Young will have the opportunity to take stock of the last months of competition. Something he has already started to do by satisfying the resilience displayed by his team:
Trae Young : Personally, I had to focus more on our young players and make sure that we were progressing every day. I believe that is what we did. Despite the wounded, Larry (Nance Jr.), Jalen (Johnson) and the others, despite the start during the season of De'Andre Hunter, who was a candidate for the 6th man of the year, we fought and we obtained the 8th Seed. We just didn't finish the job.
Obviously disappointed by the elimination and end of the season of the Hawks, Trae Young remains convinced that his franchise had enough talent to participate in the playoffs. However, he will have to wait at least a year to react there.
