NBA LeBron James et Gilbert Arenas

If LeBron James is the league standard bearer, the Chosen One is also the most criticized player. It will therefore be necessary to find him a successor once he is retired … and according to Gilbert Arenas, a star is all designated to take his place.

What a career. Difficult not to say anything else when you talk about LeBron James' journey on NBA parquet floors. 22 seasons (soon 23?) Of bullet in hand, 22 seasons of absolutely crazy regularity, including today when he celebrated his 40th anniversary in December. But also, 22 seasons of performances spent under the magnifying glass and especially harsh criticism falling on him at the slightest little obstacle encountered.

Because if the winger is one of the greatest players of all time, few have faced as much adversity among the media and fans. Being in the battle with Michael Jordan for the honorary title of the Goat of the Orange ball, LeBron sees the worshipers of His Airness User of all the stratagems to minimize his exploits. His recent Beef with the sulphurous Stephen A. Smith is the perfect proof.

Jayson Tatum, next victim of the American media after LeBron?

Despite more than 50,000 career -registered points as well as four champion titles for as many regular season MVPs and finals, the Lakers superstar remains the main target of the media and for good reason: using it is ideal for boosting audiences, more than with any other NBA player. An observation perfectly illustrated recently by Gilbert Arenas, who spoke in his podcast:

Currently, there is no one that the NBA media really hate or against whom they want to oppose the audience. They will not attack Wemby. They will not attack Steph. They will not attack these young people. The only person at this level, on which they can sit and say shit is him.

Problem, they will not be able to continue so forever since Chosen One will soon retire. No worries however according to Arenas, because the latter thinks that a certain Jayson Tatum would be indicated to take over:

When LeBron is gone and the media has finished falling on him, you will be the next one.

It may seem free … but it is not so insane as that, because I must already do with a serious lack of popularity through the NBA community for years. Not sure that making the back-to-back with the Celtics is beneficial to it, especially since the Greens and Whites also have a very solid detractor base.

LeBron James will soon be there and the American media will have to find another target to place in their viewfinder. For Gilbert Arenas, Jayson Tatum is predestined to occupy this role … On the other hand, we could also consider that they continue to type on the King, even after the latter hung up the sneakers for good.
