Heroic in the face of the grizzleas, this Friday, Anthony Davis, however, could not prevent the defeat of the Mavericks, and therefore the end of their season. The time was therefore up to the balance sheet for the Unibrow, mixed in spite of himself with the stormy trade of Luka Doncic.

Some would undoubtedly have liked to see him in action this Saturday, during Game 1 between the Lakers at Timberwolves. To choose, Anthony Davis may have favored this scenario himself. Unfortunately for him, however, he did not have his say when Rob Pelinka and Nico Harrison agreed to join Dallas. That said, he had the opportunity to access the playoffs with his new team in recent hours.

Still alive in the Play-In Tournament, the Mavericks moved this Friday in Memphis to win the 8th Seed to the west. However, they quickly saw their chances there, or even evaporate. After only nine minutes of play, they already had no less than 20 points behind the score (14-34). A crippling gap which ultimately increased to 14 units (106-120) and synonymous with the end of the season.

Well available for this meeting, Davis, on the other hand, has little to blame. Although the victim of an injury during the match, he finished with 40 points and 9 rebounds and never seemed to want to give up. An impeccable attitude, in the same way as the discourse with the appearance of a balance sheet which he later delivered at a press conference. Mike Curtis of Dallas Morning News reports:

Anthony Davis : I am just very grateful because I can play basketball. And grateful to Dallas, the fanbase and my teammates for accepting me and welcomed with open arms, given the situation. It's part of basketball. You cannot control everything that takes place. (…) Once injured, I did everything to come back to the parquet floor, finish the season and take us to the playoffs.

This mission, the Unibrow, however, was unable to fill it, which has revived criticism against Nico Harrison. A phenomenon he also mentioned afterwards:

Anthony Davis : Obviously, there are a lot of emotions. I know all of that has nothing to do with me. Simply, the city adored (Luka). He left, I arrived and even if the fans want to welcome you and thank you for being there, it remains painful for them. Personally, I am just grateful to the city of Dallas and to the fans for having welcomed us, Max (Christie) and I, in this new environment.

It is therefore with a soft-soft feeling in the mouth that AD begins his offseason and will most certainly follow the entry into the running of his former Playoffs.

Involved at his expense in the Trade of Luka Doncic, Anthony Davis puts himself in the place of the fans of the Mavericks and seems to understand their anger. He thanks them to their welcome in this context as delicate as they are stormy.
