An assistant referee was injured in the head on Friday evening at the very end of the National Derby between Quevilly and Rouen (2-1) after projectile jets launched by a man who was placed in police custody, announced the prefecture.
An end of chaotic derby. Quevilly-Rouen Métropole (QRM) and FC Rouen (FCR) met this Friday for the second time of this national season 1. The meeting ended under the whistles after the defeat of FC Rouen (2-1).
It was then that a “particular gravity was made at the end of the match”, revealed the prefecture of Seine-Maritime: “An assistant referee was targeted by several projectile jets, and was reached by one of them launched to all force from the Lenoble tribune, devoted to the supporters of FC Rouen”.
Several arrests
A match already marked by several scuffles on the field, two red boxes, and some provocations towards the stands which increased the tension at the Robert-Diochon stadium, pregnant shared by the two formations. The “alleged perpetrator” of the projectile jet “could be identified, then recognized and arrested at the end of the meeting, a few hundred meters from the stadium”, details the prefecture. A second supporter of FC Rouen who accompanied him was also placed in police custody. Note that the first three arrests took place for attempting to introduce smoke bombs in the enclosure just before the meeting.
The National Division to Combat Hooliganism (DNLH) had classified the meeting at a risk level of 2 out of 5.
While the FC Rouen club has condemned “with the greatest firmness” the gesture of its supporter, the prefecture indicates for its part that it will be attentive to the consequences that the disciplinary committee of the French Football Federation will draw from “these serious facts, which have their place on any football, professional or amateur field”.
On Thursday, the French Football Federation announced a future partnership with the Ministry of the Interior and the National Police to better protect amateur and professional referees, more threatened on and outside the field.
Philippe Diallo, president of the FFF, notably asked the boss of the French arbitration Antony Gautier to reflect on new recommendations, such as sanctions and reinforced legal proceedings for attackers or the test of on -board cameras.
