If the FC Nantes training center has often been back in recent seasons for the benefit of the emergency of the situation, Antoine Kombouaré seems more open to launching young people this season. Indeed, in the space of a few months, the Kanak gave players a chance like Nathan Zézé, Herba Guirassy, Louis Leroux or Dehmaine Tabibou, some even managed to win with the pennant team.
A change that delights the director of the Samuel Fenillat training center, which spoke to Ouest-France on the sidelines of the Gambardella Cup semi-final in Dijon. After the epic in Youth League, the trainer feared a great exodus which did not take place: “I was afraid. In the end, the boys were reasonable. The club also opened the doors for departures as for integrations in the pro group (…) We did not see them all go so fast. It was an accelerator in their learning, but also in their course at the club ”.

For Fenillat, the choice of the club is logical and also owes a little to the context: “They are with the pros because they have qualities, which they then had visibility, but also because the context opens doors. Last summer, the club sold players for ten million euros who had played very little in pro, that is to say only on potential. The exhibition of young people, by making them play, makes them gain value. The club needs money. It opens doors more easily ”.
If he does not say it, Samuel Fenillat knows that with the sole sale of Nathan Zézé next summer, the Canaries could well finance a large part of their structural deficit of € 45 million which is supposed to mop Waldemar Kita to ensure the continuity of the club in Ligue 1.
