Oliver Kahn has drawn an offer of 30 million

It is a dossier now public. For several months, the former legend of Bayern Munich Oliver Kahn wishes to buy the Girondins de Bordeaux. But Gérard Lopez does not really want to part with it and the negotiations are stopped. In an interview for Bild, Oliver Kahn spoke about his buyout project and confirmed that he had drawn an offer of 30 million euros.

“Bordeaux is an exciting city, an exciting club, which we have known since my time when we have won the UEFA Cup, which is my first title. It's super exciting, it's a great club. It is also exciting through many difficulties, sporting and financial. By force of things, they are now in the fourth French division. I have been there for a long time and intensively in discussions with those responsible and with stakeholders, for a potential entry on our part, to see how it can be possible. But the club's journey means that it is today in bankruptcy proceedings (receivership, note), which makes the overall situation naturally not that easy. It's complex. We initially sent 30 million euros, and we brought the official funds to the official authorities. We thought about it very carefully. (…) The goal is to ensure that this club, in the coming years, returns to Ligue 1, and we can. We can very well imagine part of the solution, but it depends if we find common solutions somewhere. But as I just said, for the moment, everything that is happening there is not easy. In any case, it's exciting, and it's a club with such a story, such a past. They also have an incredibly passionate supporters base. Just look at the crowd at the stadium when they are in fourth division, and even when they were in the second division. It's just gigantic. Our desire is to contribute to this, but of course, it is a big project. I hope we can find solutions “.
