LaNorris Sellers, the redshirt sophomore quarterback for the South Carolina Gamecocks, has rapidly emerged as one of college football’s most promising talents. Born on June 23, 2005, in Florence, South Carolina, Sellers attended South Florence High School, where he showcased his dual-threat capabilities. In his senior year, he threw for 2,948 yards and 45 touchdowns while rushing for 1,338 yards and 17 touchdowns, leading his team to a 4A state championship. His outstanding performance earned him the Florence Morning News Player of the Year and offensive MVP honors at the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas.
Redshirt Freshman Season: A Meteoric Rise
After redshirting in 2023, Sellers took over as the starting quarterback in 2024 and quickly made his mark. He completed 196 of 299 passes for 2,534 yards, 18 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, achieving a 65.6% completion rate. On the ground, he added 674 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.
