Clemson Tigers Track and Field Team Set to Compete at NCAA Championships
The Clemson Tigers Track and Field team is poised to make a significant impact at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships, scheduled from June 11 to June 14 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Following a strong performance at the NCAA East Regional Championships in Jacksonville, Florida, the Tigers have secured spots for eight individuals and two relay teams at the national meet .
Men’s Team Qualifiers
Ryan John – Triple Jump
Senior Ryan John has qualified for his first NCAA Outdoor Championships in the triple jump. He achieved a mark of 15.82 meters at the East Regional, securing his spot in Eugene .
Brian Kweyei – 800 Meters
Sophomore Brian Kweyei will represent Clemson in the 800 meters. He posted a time of 1:47.28 at the East Regional, earning his qualification for the national meet .
Jalen Johnson – 200 Meters
Freshman Jalen Johnson is set to compete in the 200 meters, marking his first appearance at the NCAA Championships. He clocked a time of 20.29 seconds in the quarterfinals at the East Regional .
Women’s Team Qualifiers
Shantae Foreman – Triple Jump
Junior Shantae Foreman is returning to the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year. She achieved a personal best of 14.01 meters in the triple jump at the East Regional, placing her among the national contenders .
Silvia Jelelgo – 1500 Meters and 5000 Meters
Silvia Jelelgo has qualified for two events: the 1500 meters and the 5000 meters. She ran a time of 4:05.68 in the 1500 meters, ranking sixth nationally, and also secured her spot in the 5000 meters .
Aniyah Kitt – 100 Meters
Freshman Aniyah Kitt is set to compete in the 100 meters, marking her first appearance at the NCAA Championships. She posted a time of 11.12 seconds at the East Regional .
Gladys Chepngetich – 800 Meters
Sophomore Gladys Chepngetich has qualified for the 800 meters with a time of 1:59.47, the fastest in Clemson program history and the tenth-fastest in NCAA history .
Oneka Wilson – 100 Meter Hurdles
Senior Oneka Wilson will compete in the 100 meter hurdles after qualifying with a time of 13.04 seconds at the East Regional .
Relay Teams
The Clemson women’s team has qualified two relay teams:
- 4×100 Meter Relay: Aniyah Kitt, Oneka Wilson, McKenzie Calloway, and Sadie Gray .
- 4×400 Meter Relay: Aniyah Kitt, Sadie Gray, Gladys Chepngetich, and Shanque Williams .
