The end of the year is approaching for Spurs, which will be on vacation in the coming days. The question is the question of the future of Chris Paul, agent-free and whose retirement is becoming more and more threatening. He rightly approached the subject.
Despite ambitious goals at the start of the season, the Spurs did not succeed in their mission. The franchise does not even reach the play-in in this campaign, even if it must be said that the organization had to manage sacred problems. Between Gregg Popovich and Victor Wembanyama, let's say that the supporters expected another scenario in this season.
But there were vagaries. The Spurs hope to find the two men at the start of the school year in September, but nothing is confirmed at this stage. We will have to prepare for all scenarios among supporters, who could lose another player during the summer in the person of Chris Paul. After all, he will be free as air in a few weeks.
What future for Chris Paul?
Because yes, CP3 signed for a short year in Texas as a reminder. He will therefore be free to choose his future in the NBA for this summer, unless obviously decides to retire. During an interview for Andescape, Paul just took stock of his future in the league and confirms that he wants to continue a little. But it is not 100%.
Chris Paul : “I will be 40 years old in May, so yeah, I will continue to play. At least I think. At the end of the season, I assess everything. I assess my level, how my body feels. But the more the years pass, the more conversations with family members, with my children. They have a lot to say, a lot of importance. »»
Because Paul necessarily sacrifices a little of his family during an NBA season and even if he does not want to have any regret concerning his career, maybe he also wants to enjoy his children. And even if he continues, no one knows if it will be on the Spurs or elsewhere:
Paul : “What we have experienced this season is not perfect, but you do with it. What happened to Popovich and Wembanyama is more important than this sport. It is not as if they were injured in an ankle or other. It's very hard to live. Pop is one of the reasons why I came here, just like Victor. I'm just grateful to have been able to play with him. »»
Chris Paul will therefore take stock in the coming weeks with his family, just to see if he continues for a new campaign in the NBA. Suffice to say that no one can know more for the moment.
