Jalen Milroe Selected No. 92 Overall in 2025 NFL Draft

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was selected by the Seattle Seahawks with the No. 92 overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The selection was announced by former Alabama and Seahawks running back Shaun Alexander in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Milroe, a native of Katy, Texas, and a standout at Alabama, expressed his excitement about joining the Seahawks. “I knew going into this process, my ultimate goal was to hear my name called, and I was able to hear that today, so this is definitely a dream come true,” Milroe said in a conference call after being selected.

During his time at Alabama, Milroe showcased his dual-threat capabilities, passing for 2,844 yards and 16 touchdowns while completing 64.3 percent of his passes. He also led the team in rushing with 726 yards and 20 rushing touchdowns.

Seattle’s decision to draft Milroe adds depth to their quarterback room, which already includes Sam Darnold and Drew Lock. General Manager John Schneider emphasized Milroe’s unique athleticism and potential, stating, “He’s a unique, special athlete, special young man. We’re going to develop him as a quarterback. With that, he can add something special as we go.”

Milroe’s selection continues the Seahawks’ approach of investing in quarterbacks with high upside, reminiscent of their 2012 third-round selection of Russell Wilson. As Milroe begins his professional journey in Seattle, he brings with him the determination to prove himself and contribute to the team’s success.

Milroe became Alabama’s starting quarterback in 2023, leading the Crimson Tide to an 11–2 record and an SEC Championship. In 2024, he continued to showcase his dual-threat abilities, passing for 2,844 yards and 16 touchdowns while rushing for 726 yards and 20 touchdowns.
