France is the country of basketball behind the United States, proof with the important tricolor delegation in the NBA. It could still grow during the next draft, with a talent like Zacharie Perrin for example. The latter spoke on his American adventure.
The French are already numerous in the NBA and they will be even more so next season. If there is no talent expected as high as Victor Wembanyama, Zaccharie Risacher or even Alex Sarr in the 2025 cuvée, several tricolor nuggets should draw the attention of scouts during the draft. Not necessarily up to expectations, Nolan Traoré will be one of them.
Author of his first season in Betclic Elite at only 20 years old, Zacharie Perrin could also hear his name on the Barclays Center stage next June. The 2m08 strong winger runs at 6.1 points and 4.3 rebounds on average with Nancy, all in just 18 minutes of playing time. The MVP of the last Euro U20 has the qualities to cross the Atlantic.

With his sense of rebound and his projection capacity on transitions, Zacharie Perrin could find a role fairly quickly in an NBA racket. When he is confident, he can even be skilled behind the arc, which is a sought after asset across the Atlantic. A franchise already knows it, since he had trained with the Clippers last season. He returned to the experience for the “Goatoguy” channel:
Last summer, I had only two weeks of vacation between the end of the season in Antibes and the French team. I had to go to the United States to do training before the draft. I hadn't had time to rest after the end of the season. It was a really good experience. I only trained for the clippers. It went well in addition.
I was with Armando Bacot, it was complicated. You arrive to do a workout before the draft and you find yourself facing the guy considered the best interior of NCAA for 3 or 4 years. And he, he had no trouble, he put himself directly back to the basket to sink me. He wanted to go out and show what he knew how to do. I didn't want to go to the draft, I just wanted to see how it was.
Zacharie Perrin has already gone through the United States, but without real intention to impose on it. Last summer, he especially wanted to discover the functioning of the league and training. Better prepared, he could spend the course in a few weeks.
